Orland Park asked to lace up sneakers for Parkinsons research

Parkinson’s disease is a neuro-degenerative condition that affects many Americans, and during an event planned near Orland Park, the public will have an opportunity to help find a cure.

Named in honor of Skip Sullivan who has been living with Parkinson’s for the past 14 years, the 9th Annual Sully Shuffle will reflect his positive and sunny attitude. The event has been held for the past seven years, and so far, about $184,000 has been raised to be used for Parkinson’s research.

Those who would like to be a part of the fun can choose between a 3-kilometer walk and a 5-kilometer run. Both courses have been planned to both start and finish at Oak Lawn Community High School and will follow a route through residential areas. Once the run and walk are over, there will be a large after party that will include drinks, food and raffles.

All of the runner will receive a chip timer so they can keep accurate track of both their time and distance. Numbered race bibs, Banners, pledge and registration sheets and other printed items for an occasion like this can be both designed and printed by local Print shops.

The 9th Annual Sully Shuffle has been planned for September 16th. More details, and an opportunity to register can be found on its online listing.
