Orland Park area racers to be heroes for a day

A race is on the agenda for the Orland Park area, and those who participate will have a chance to become a superhero for a child who is living with cancer.

The activity has been planned for Oak Forest’s Yankee Woods Preserve, and the course is 5K long. Runners can choose to either register for free and sign up sponsors, or purchase a ticket. Those who buy a ticket will receive a T-shirt, while anyone who Signs up for free and is able to fund raise at least $150 will receive one of the shirts as a “thank you” for supporting the cause. Promotional Products such as this, along with other items to help make a fundraiser a success, can be both designed and produced by a local Print company.

The monies raised from the day’s activities will be donated to The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, which provides support to children diagnosed with cancer. Registration starts on the day of the race at 8:30 am, and the run itself will begin at 9:00 am. Those who would like to participate can choose to walk or run, and everyone who would like to help is welcome.

The Saving Superheroes 5K Run/Walk will be taking place on April 28, and the staging area is 16520 Central Avenue in Oak Forest. More details about the occasion can be found on its website.
