On April 17, 2017, village officials approved Two Brothers Social Tap's request for a liquor license, clearing the way for the new restaurant to open soon in the Pleasant District of Oak Park.
Although Two Brothers has obtained its liquor license, no beer will be brewed at the new location, according to an article in the Chicago Tribune.
Jason Ebel is a co-founder of the Two Brothers chain, and says the new spot will include a cafe that will sell spirits, beer, and coffee, as well as food. He describes Two Brothers as a family-friendly place, and the fare as ‘upscale pub food’, adding that they make everything from scratch. They plan to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and feature some of the dishes that have proven to be popular at their other spots, such as chimichurri nachos, fish tacos, and house-ground hamburgers.
Ebel says the new restaurant will serve some of the company's signature beers, but because they are not brewing in-house, they will also offer patrons the chance to buy beers made by other crafters, who will be welcome in the new establishment.
Ebel and his crew began a rapid build-out of the site, which is the old Marion Street Market, and hope to be open by Memorial Day.
Companies like this can get a helping hand if owners work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for distribution, perhaps including a special if people will stop in and try the new place.
