The Oak Park Conservatory will be hosting another Seed Swap in January to celebrate a national holiday.

The event is a celebration of National Seed Swap Day, which is a holiday that was formed in 2006 by Kathy Jentz, a gardener and editor for Washington Gardener Magazine. The event is typically celebrated on the last Saturday of January, though celebrations may still be organized within two weeks of the actual date. There have been Seed Swaps held in over 35 states. The conservatory’s Seed Swap event will take place on January 25th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, though the first hour of the swap will only be open for Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory members. Those who attend the swap do not need to register in advance, and there is no cost to bring and trade seeds with other gardeners.
