The Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON) will organize several community concerts at the Rubinstein Garden.
Uncorked is a music series where guests can hear live performances while enjoying alcohol and appetizers. Each concert date will have local vendors selling products at the garden, such as the Happy Apple Pie Shop, Todd & Holland Tea Merchants, and Crumb Crusher Cupcakes. People can also take a guided tour of the Oak Park Conservatory’s showrooms. The participating bands for this year’s program include the Tim Lowery Trio, The Replays, and the AcoustiCats.
FOPCON is a nonprofit group that works to offer promotion for Oak Park Conservatory while hosting projects that benefit the landmark. The conservatory was built in 1929, and FOPCON was later founded in 1986. The organization hosts several educational programs, conducts tours of the building, and offers volunteer services to the conservatory. Those who become members of FOPCON can get benefits like discounts at local businesses and free access to gardening lectures.
The Uncorked concert series will be held on June 27th, July 25th, August 22nd, and September 26th. Tickets to each show will cost $25 and must be bought in advance. Members of FOPCON will receive a discount on their admission.
