The Oak Park Runners Club will hold an event in April at the Oak Park and River Forest High School.
The Good Life Race is a competitive event that encourages people to get active. There will be multiple kinds of races to enter, including a 5K, Youth Mile, and Junior Dash. Each event will take place on a flat course that is closed off from cars. Those who compete in the 5K can win cash awards for placing in the top three overall finishing times. The awards ceremony will be held at the Oak Park River and Forest High School fieldhouse.
Oak Park Runners Club is an organization that coordinates running events in the Chicago area. The group is also part of the Road Runners Club of America and volunteers during the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. The first 5K the club organized was in 1982 and was known as the Fall 5K. The name was changed in 1987 to the Race That’s Good for Life, and it was changed again in 2015 to the Good Life Race.
The race will be on Sunday, April 30 from 6:00 am to 11:10 am. The 5K will cost $40 to enter, and the Junior Dash will cost $15. Children aged 12 and younger may pay $20 to enter the Youth Mile. Running clubs that host events like this may use flyer printing to get people interested in their athletic activities.
