The Oak Park Arts District Business Association will be hosting a community street fair in May on Harrison Street.
What’s Blooming on Harrison is an annual event where people can browse local vendors while enjoying many family-friendly activities on the street. Attendees will get to see creations from various artists and purchase food from participating food vendors. There will also be a children’s carnival at the fest and live performances on the main stage. Adults can buy beer from the fair’s beer garden with cash. The Kiddie Carnival will also be available for an additional fee.
The street fair organizers are looking for volunteers to help with the event. There are many tasks people can help out with, such as setting up tents for the fest or serving as booth minders for artists who need to take a break from their stalls. Volunteers may also assist the organizers with packing up all of the fair’s tents. Those who work at the street festival will receive a T-shirt to wear, so participants must let the organizers know their size when filling out their volunteer application.
The community street festival will be on Saturday, May 20 until 9:00 pm. Tickets are not required to enter the fest or view any performances. Those in charge of local activities similar to this may use banner printing to create ads.
