Downtown Oak Park will hold a two-day community fest in September on Marion Street and North Boulevard.
Oaktoberfest is an event where people can watch live entertainment while trying local food and beverages. The Black Opry, Nathan Graham, and Will Hoge will perform this year at the festival. The School of Rock will also be attending the fest.
Several beers can be tried during the event, such as the Revolution Anti Hero, Kinslahger Oktoberfest Traditional, and 2 Fools Cider Rose. The fest will also feature wines made in Austria, Italy, and New Zealand. People can purchase three drink tickets and a souvenir mug for $25. Individual drink tickets will cost $8.
The food vendors attending Oaktoberfest include restaurants like Puree’s Pizza & Pasta, The Little Gem Restaurant, and Mancini’s on Lake. The merchants will only accept cash for payments. All food tents will be located by the Harlem Green Line and Metro Stations. Vendors at fests like this may use banner printing to increase their visibility.
Families can bring their children to the Kids’ Root Beer Garden to participate in zucchini races and crafts activities. Kids may also challenge the America Ninja Warrior course and make root beer floats.
Oaktoberfest will be held on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24. The performances are free for the public to enjoy. The kids’ garden will only be open on the Saturday from noon to 5:00 pm.
