The Downtown Oak Park Business Alliance will hold a seasonal event in December on Lake Street & Marion Street.
Winterfest 2024 is a program where the community can visit Downtown Oak Park and take part in holiday activities. A Cookie Walk will be held during the event that features cookies from businesses like the Blackout Baking Company, Silverland Bakery, and Yoku Moku. Those who participate in the walk can also receive treats from Candycopia, Wells Street Popcorn, and Ghirardelli Chocolate. People can receive complimentary hot cocoa from the Collaboration for Early Childhood.
Entertainment for Winterfest 2024 will be provided by the Heritage Chorale and the Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRF) Show Choir. The Heritage Chorale is a group of singers from over 30 Metrowest communities. The music director for the choir is Steven Lipsitt, and the group’s president is Laura Helliwell. The OPRF Show Choir is led by Meredith McGuire and Brendon Culloton. The school’s organization has performed at many events, including the Huskie Music Fest and Prisms of Winter Concert.
Oak Park’s Winterfest will take place on December 7th. Those who want to participate in the Cookie Walk can purchase tins for $30. Only one cookie tin can be purchased per household. There will be free parking for the event at the Holley Court Garage and Lake Forest Garage.
