People interested in historical architecture can participate in a tour held in May throughout Oak Park.
The Wright Plus Architectural Housewalk is a unique event where attendees can tour eight private homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Several houses will be open to participants, including the David J. Kennedy Coach House, James T. Hayden House, and John Vette House. There will be tour guides stationed throughout the event to provide visitors with information about the architectural elements and history of each residence.
The walking tour is organized by the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust, which is an organization dedicated to preserving Wright’s legacy through education and community engagement. The group was formed in 1974 and was initially called the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio Foundation. The organization currently has 50 staff members and 650 volunteers. Groups like this can keep promoting their cause to the public by using brochure printing to make informative materials.
The house tours will be held on Saturday, May 21st. Tickets for the experience will start selling on January 1st. General admission costs $125 for the public, while members of the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust can pay $90. Fast passes are also available for $600. People can become a member of the trust to receive benefits like advanced access to program guides and discounts at all museum shops run by the organization.
