The Library Administrators Council of Northern Illinois (LACONI) will organize a special event in Oak Park this May.
The LACONI Trustee Banquet is an event where members of Chicagoland Library Trustees can gather and connect with other library trustees. LACONI is an association that was formed in 1954 to help library staff members gain access to technology and community programs. The meal options for the banquet will include panko herb-crusted salmon, hanger steak, and tagliatelle pasta. Attendees can hear from representatives from EveryLibrary and Book Riot about the current issues libraries face.
EveryLibrary is an organization that wants to help people continue to have access to libraries by helping these facilities win funding. The group also protects libraries against threats like book bans. People can help EveryLibrary provide pro bono work by donating to the organization. Book Riot is an editorial book site that holds many types of media, such as podcasts and newsletters. The organization gives people a platform to freely discuss Books, readers, and publishing.
The trustee banquet will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The meeting will take place at The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association. Those interested in the dinner and gathering can pay $70 to attend the event.
