The Oak Park Conservatory will be holding a special event in January in honor of National Seed Swap Day.
The Seed Swap is an activity where people can continue the US tradition of exchanging seeds with neighbors. Several types of seeds can be found at the conservatory’s celebration, such as vegetable seeds and perennial seeds. Experienced gardeners will be offering advice to attendees on how they can start their gardens. There will also be a lecture dedicated to sowing seeds held before the Seed Swap.
The Oak Park Conservatory is an attraction run by the Park District of Oak Park that has many public gardens to explore. Many events are held at the venue, like the Winter Greens Market, Annual Spring Plant Sale, and Storytime at the Conservatory. People interested in helping the organization may become a Cheney Mansion Gardener, Special Event Volunteer, or Plant Sale Grower Volunteer. The conservatory also accepts donations.
The Seed Swap will be held on Sunday, January 29 from 10:00 am to noon, and the event’s lecture on seed sowing will take place from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Both activities will be in the conservatory’s Rubinstein Room. Registration is required to attend the presentation. Conservatories that organize community celebrations such as this may use flyer printing to generate more awareness for their events.
