A concert in celebration of Beethoven's music is planned for Oak Park, in a special venue.
Unity Temple in Oak Park was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and is the setting of the Unity Chamber Music Series. The next concert features wind instrument players from the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The five musicians, Susan Warner, Dennis Michel, William Welter, David Griffin, and Kuang-Hao Huang, are all professionals
Susan Warner is the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra's Assistant Principal Clarinetist. She also plays with the Prairie Winds Quintet at Madeline Island Chamber Music in the summers.
Since 1998, Dennis Michel has been second bassoonist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Before coming to Chicago, Michel was the San Diego Symphony Orchestra's principal bassoonist for 16 years.
William Welter is now Principle Oboe of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Before joining the CSO, Welter performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
David Griffin is the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's fourth horn. He has also held a position with the Rochester Philharmonic, as well as orchestras in Houston and Montreal, before coming to Chicago in 1995.
Collaborative pianist Kuang-Hao Huang has performed throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. He is a faculty member at both Concordia University-Chicago, and the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
The concert is set for April 17, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm, although the global COVID-19 situation means it is worth checking for updates. Brochure printing can be used to create programs for events like this.
