The Actors Garden in Oak Park will hold a multi-week theater workshop for kids on several unique topics.
Backstage Pass: A Theatre Workshop Series is a program that spans from January to March where children can learn about several acting-related topics from experienced instructors. The sessions will go over subjects like theatrical costume design, special effects makeup, musical theatre choreography, and improvisation. The lineup of instructors includes Kim Frost, Paige Hudson, and Jeremiah Barr. Each workshop will consist of a maximum of ten students.
The Actors Garden is a theater that helps people become more confident performers through informative workshops. The classes at the organization can be taken by aspiring actors of all ages. The theater offers workshops like Graphic Novels Onstage, Introduction to Theatre, and Dance Me A Story. The owner and creative director of the organization is Gigi Hudson, a teacher who has been educating children for more than 30 years.
The workshop series will be held from Friday, January 12th to Friday, March 15th. Children can take part in individual classes for $25 or attend the entire series for $200. The sessions will last from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The courses are intended for kids ages 10-15. Theaters that offer kid-friendly programs like this may use banner printing to make ads they can place outside their buildings.
