The community can attend a special holiday event in the evening at the Oak Park Conservatory in December.
The Candlelight Walk is a family-friendly activity where guests can explore the decorated greenhouses at the Oak Park Conservatory. Each greenhouse will be filled with luminaries. Kids may take a picture with Santa among the poinsettias and drop a wish list at Santa’s on-site mailbox. Those who give Santa a list will receive a gift. The conservatory will also be holding a Winter Greens Market that sells fresh plants such as winter berries, spruce tops, and boxwood.
The Oak Park Conservatory is a famous historical site and part of the Park District of Oak Park. The venue has three indoor showrooms people can visit for free with themes like tropical and desert. Guests can also walk through the Elsie Jacobsen Discovery Garden & Rubinstein Garden to view native ecosystems. The conservatory even offers online courses such as Seed Starting and the Art of Landscape Design. Sites like this may promote public programs to locals with poster printing.
The Candlelight Walk will take place on December 3 and December 4. There are multiple timeslots available each night to ensure the venue will not be overcrowded. Advanced registration is needed for all guests who are two and older. Tickets for the walk will cost $12 per attendee.
