A popular event is returning to Oak Park and movie buffs are sure to be delighted.
One Earth Film Festival, the premier festival in the Midwest that shows films about the environment, is back for the tenth year. Subjects covered in the films that will be shown include community, health, and of course, the planet.
The festival begins with a launch party featuring a panel of filmmakers whose work is featured in the event; trailers; the winning film from the Young Filmmakers Contest; and highlights of the upcoming festival. The evening's special guest is Angela Tovar, who is the Chief Sustainability Office for the City of Chicago.
The films cover a great variety of topics including wildlife; recycling; the oceans; transportation; environmental and social justice; energy; conservation; and climate change. There are also films meant especially for younger audiences, especially families with children.
The 2021 Season Launch Party is scheduled for March 5, at 6.30 pm. The admission price is $40, but there is a “Give One, Get One” option for $80. Those who choose to take part in this will receive a ticket for themselves, and a second ticket will be given away free to someone in need. The festival runs through March 14 at the Lake Theatre on Lake Street. Brochure printing can be used to create informative programs for special events like this.
