The Downtown Oak Park Business Alliance will be organizing a two-day family-friendly fall event in September.
Oaktoberfest is a yearly program that celebrates the changing seasons with a live community concert and marketplace featuring several food and alcohol vendors. Many talented performers are playing at the fest, such as Lilly Hiatt, the Joel Paterson Trio, and CJ Chenier & The Red Hot Louisiana Band. People can order microbrews and wine at the festival by purchasing $10 drink tickets. There will also be a bundle for $30 that includes three drink tickets and a commemorative mug.
The Downtown Oak Park Business Alliance is an organization made up of retailers and property owners from Oak Park’s Special Service Area #1. It supports the development of local businesses, organizes several events throughout the year, and provides educational workshops to its members. The city’s landscaping is also maintained by the organization. The current executive director of the business alliance is Shanon Williams.
The fall festival will be held on September 22 and September 23. There is no cost to enjoy the live bands playing during Oaktoberfest, though adults who can legally drink alcohol are required to bring cash to pay for the drink tickets. Groups that hold community concerts like this may use poster printing to provide locals with important information about the events in advance.
