Craft beer event coming to Oak Park

People who love sampling a variety of specialty brews have an event coming up just for them.

The 13th Annual Oak Park Micro Brew Review is on the calendar, and promises to bring food and fun with it, as well as an opportunity to support a great cause. The beer festival will be held in downtown Oak Park, with more than 80 of the best craft breweries in the Midwest taking part. Local restaurants that serve sustainable food will be serving small plates, and there will be live music as well.

There are two admission levels, general and VIP. VIP ticket holders are admitted one hour earlier, and for a two-hour period, 12.00 pm until 2.00 pm, have access to indoor venues where there are food and beer pairings available. They also receive early access to the Iron Brewer competition

The Iron Brewer contest runs from 1.30 pm until 3.00 pm, during which 20 brewers compete to win the award for the best beer. VIPs will be able to enjoy 90 minutes of tasting until the contest is opened to the general public at 3.00 pm. The winner of the award will be determined by the participants themselves.

The festival is scheduled for August 15, from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm, and supports Seven Generations Ahead, a non-profit environmental group working to promote sustainable, healthy communities. Flyer printing can create useful handouts for events like this, listing participating vendors.
