Local museum takes an Irish turn

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will be holding its annual Irish Fest in mid-July. The two-day event will feature Irish music and food.

Traditional Irish beverages will be available for purchase. Harrington’s Irish Restaurant will be onsite selling its Irish specialties.

The event’s main stage will have the likes of Jimmy Keane, Trinity Irish Dancers, and the Big League Boys. Modern Day Romeos will be the final act for the first night. The second night’s entertainment will begin with the McNulty Dancers. Small Potatoes, Emerald Society, Mulligan Stew, and Epic Rocks will also perform. Fans may like to check with these performers to see if they have any promotional products with them for sale.

Families may want to take their little ones to the Wee Folk Tent on the last evening. There, everyone can enjoy balloon art, modern and historical games, Irish crafts, and the chance to win prizes. A marketplace will also be open from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

The event will be at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum grounds at the corner of Vail and Euclid Streets here in Arlington Heights. On Friday, July 14 the event will open at 4:30 pm and go from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm. On Saturday, July 15 the event will run from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Adult admission will be $5.
