Home expands for local seniors benefit
Residents of the Arlington Heights retirement community The Moorings are no doubt delighted by the news that the village board has agreed to support a $70m expansion project.
The Moorings offers a wide expanse of care for its residents, from the ability to live independently to being able to have assisted living and nursing care. Current residents say they feel comfortable and safe at the community because they realize the community can assist every level of their needs as they age without having to be uprooted as their health declines.
The expansion project will provide a new facility for assisted living, as well as a specific area for residents with memory care needs. The expansion project will also provide a fellowship hall for its residents.
The project will be completed in phases, with the first phase being the building of the new assisted care facility. Once that is completed, the current facility will be demolished and replaced by the fellowship hall and memory care facility, which strives to support an at-home atmosphere for its residents.
The Moorings currently provides 450 homes, including villas for independent living and skilled care units for those with medical monitoring needs. The project, slated to being in spring, is expected to take two and a half years to complete. Those interested may visit The Moorings website or call to request a free brochures for additional information.
