Frontier Days set for early July

Arlington Heights 44th Annual Frontier Days is coming in early July.

The entertainment over the five-day festival will be 7th Heaven, Scott Stapp off Creed, War, Bret Michaels and American English. Fans often go online beforehand to purchase promotional products such as tees, visors and sweatbands to wear during the event.

Carnival rides, petting zoo and pony rides will be available all five days.

Wednesday’s lineup includes hockey skills on the tennis court, dog Frisbee on the Meyer Baseball outfield, Scholarships awards at 7:45 am on the Main Stage and Exit 147 on the Frontier Stage.

Thursday after the July 4th Parade there will be a veterans’ lunch, bingo, tumblers, pie and rib eating contests, a puppet show and rope warrior.

Friday will include a Baggo tournament on Hickory Soccer field, baseball/softball skills at the Hickory St. Baseball Field, and Jagged Little Pill Band on the Frontier Stage.

Saturday will have a 3v3 soccer tournament, arts and crafts market, non-profit fair, teen volleyball tournament, aqua challenge, cake decorating and corn eating contests, reptile show, and K-9 unit demonstrations.

Sunday will begin with the annual Frontier Days’ Stampede Run beginning at 7:30 am. It will include chipped timed 5 and 10K runs, 5K walk and a ¼ mile Kids Dash. There will also be Spikeball, water fights, clowns, dinosaur show, decorated mirror and chicken wing eating contests.

The 44th Annual Frontier Days will be July 3rd through the 7th at Recreation Park, 500 E. Miner Street.
