Chicago area in for a scream of an event
The Days of the Dead convention is taking place for three days this month. It is dedicated to horror and science fiction movies, books, and television shows.
The event will consist of cosplay displays, a costume showdown, autograph sessions, and panel discussions. Some of the topics up for discussion include independent filmmakers and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
There will be a range of special guests, including actors Rose McGowan, Dee Wallace, David Warner, Bruce Boxleitner, and Barry Bostwick. The event will conclude with the Monster's Ball party, featuring DJ Tre.
Rose McGowan will be holding several autograph signing sessions on Saturday and Sunday, the price of which is $40. Vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of related merchandise, such as DVDs, posters, action figures, and comic books.
Poster printing companies were likely asked to produce items that could be used as advertising in surrounding areas, such as Arlington Heights.
Days of the Dead will take place at the Chicago Schaumburg Marriott from November 21 to 23. Tickets are $70 for the weekend, $25 for Friday or Sunday, and $30 for Saturday. VIP tickets are also available for $179; this includes access to the private lounge where the guests will hang out, as well as two magazine subscriptions and a reusable tote bag. For updated information, visit the event's official website.
