Charity virtual run live streams on Zoom and Facebook
Shine a Light NF Walk Chicagoland! Walk will be a virtual event this year. This is a major fundraiser for the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
Arlington Heights area individuals and teams get friends, neighbors and co-workers to donate money for the organization through sponsoring the individual’s participation in the walk. The goal for this year is $48,000.
Prizes will be awarded to participants that garner certain fundraising amounts. For example, when runners receive $100 in donations, they can get blue and green T-shirts sporting the graphic design that the 2020 design contest winner submitted. Hats are at the $250 level, swell bottles at the $500 level, and long-sleeve T-shirts and backpacks go to those who get $1,000 in donations. Higher levels have heavy rain jackets and portable speakers as gifts.
Tickets will be free but registration is required. Adult walkers and children over the age of 13 can start their fundraising efforts by donating $25 to their own lists. Free Child Walker tickets also are available for kids from the ages of 4 to 12, and even kids under four years old can sign up for the Young Child Walker tickets.
Participants can take their walks on Saturday, September 26 from 6:00 am unit 9:00 pm. A live stream of festivities at Lake Arlington will be from 11:00 am until noon on Zoom and on the Facebook Event Page.
