Arlington Heights revs up for fall
Two fall events are scheduled for October in Arlington Heights.
The first festivity will be the annual Autumn Harvest in North School Park, at the corner of Evergreen Avenue and E. Eastman Street. This free family-oriented event will include face painting, scarecrow building contests, crafts, hay rides and a petting zoo. There will be food available for purchase. The fun will begin at 11:00 am and go to around 3:00 pm this Saturday, October 5.
Preregistration will be highly recommended for local little ones to attend the town’s Trunk-or-Treat. Members of local organizations and businesses will decorate their vehicles with Halloween themes and pass out candy. Everyone is encouraged to come in their Halloween best. Along with the Halloween Handout trip around inside the building, there will be games, an art and craft project, a Mad Science demonstration, and jump inflatables.
Parking options will be the little parking lot on the building’s south side, north on Eastman, south on West Wing, and west on Salem. The Molon Corporation parking lot at 300 N. Ridge Road will also be available.
Towns that put on Halloween events such as this often have local photographers take pictures during the event and include the photos in the next year’s tourist guide brochure printing.
The Trunk-or-Treat will be at the Village of Arlington Heights Public Works building, 222 N. Ridge Avenue from 6:00 pm until 8:15 pm on Friday, October 25.
