Arlington Heights gears up for wearin o the green
Local Arlington Heights organizations and businesses will be gearing up for the upcoming Paint the Town Green on St. Patrick’s Day.
This will be the area's eighth annual St. Pat’s celebration and parade. The theme this year will be ‘Paint the Town Green’.
Parade float entries will be judged with prizes going to the ones for best use of the parade theme. As thousands of people are expected to attend, this will be a good opportunity for local printing companies and other businesses to advertise their goods and services by handing out coupons and promotional products along with candy and other items in goodie bags along the parade route.
An Irish market will be under a tent in Palatine’s downtown area, and live Irish music performances will be part of the after parade festivities.
Teams of two to six players are invited to go on a scavenger hunt around the downtown area. Teams will seek hidden treasure and solve clues by answering trivia questions, taking pictures, and recording their experiences on their phones. Winners will get cash and a prize gift package. Over 50 teams are expected to participate.
The parade will kick off at 11:00 AM St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) in downtown Palatine.
The Scavenger Hunt will begin at 10:00 AM on the same day, closing Tuesday, March 20th at 11:59 pm.
