What's Happening in Arlington Heights, IL…

Annual festival returns to Arlington Heights

The annual Frontier Days Festival is returning to Arlington Heights for five days this July. This is a free event that is completely supported by volunteers.

There will be plenty of activities to take part in over the run of the festival, and one day will be set aside just for citizens with disabilities and their immediate families.

There are set to be musical performances from artists like Sister Hazel, the Gin Blossoms, and The Bacon Brothers on the main stage. There will also be baggo, soccer, and volleyball tournaments, a performance by Mad Science, face painting, and bingo games. Family activities will include a petting zoo and pony rides.

There will also be carnival rides, for which a $23 bracelet allows for unlimited rides for one day. The 39th Arts and Crafts Marketplace is planned for July 5 and 6, which will offer handmade items from local artisans. Other special events will be Taste of Frontier Day,s where visitors can sample food from local restaurants and caterers, the stampede run, and a rib-eating contest. Of course, a 4th of July parade will complete the proceedings.

This event has been attracting visitors from Arlington Heights and nearby communities since 1975. A flyer is available, that was no doubt designed and created with the help of local print companies and will help to spread the word.

The Frontier Days Festival is taking place from July 2 to 6. To find out more about this annual event, call 847-577-8572.
