Peachtree Citys gives positive inaugural annual report

Peachtree City has for the first time created an annual report whereby the municipality’s quarterly data has been compiled into a single year-end snapshot of its progress.

City Council has received an annual report for 2025, showing crime declining, community engagement growing, department services improving, and public safety resources in schools increasing in 2025. The document was described by Mayor Kim Learnard as “comprehensive and very, very impressive.”

The biggest takeaway from the report is the reported sustained decline in crime that includes an overall reduction in crime of 28.7%, with a 35.2% decline in thefts. Report response times of 2.3 minutes for emergencies and 4.5 minutes for non-emergency calls were cited in the report. Additionally, the number of school resource officers was bumped up from three to eight.

In 2025, emergency medical and rescue calls increased, as did training hours for Fire and Rescue with the average response time for all calls remaining steady at six minutes. Public works crews and city engineering personnel replaced 859 linear feet of pipe, conducted facility upgrades and bridge widening, repairs to 853 fleet vehicles, and removed 829 hazardous trees.

Moreover, development has been steady in 2025 with the issuance of 1,649 building permits and 184 new business licenses. Finally, tourism growth was notable for the year, with $47.8m in total visitor spending and 66 special events held throughout the year.
