A special America250 event will be held at the Peachtree City Library in late June titled Red White and ‘Cue and subtitled Georgia History Through Barbecue.
Hosted by the Peachtree City Library along with The Friends of the Peachtree City Library, the event will feature Dr. James “Trae” Welborn III and include a complementary barbecue sandwich. Welborn a Georgia-based historian will explore how barbecue traditions are linked to the state’s social, agricultural, and cultural history.
America250 events are taking place all over the country to commemorate the United States of America’s 250th anniversary. Banner printing services will likely see a boost in sales as communities of all sizes across the nation launch their own celebratory events.
Organizations using brochure printing services find libraries to be excellent distribution points.
The program will offer two seatings for the humanities program on Saturday, June 27. The first will be 11 am to 12 pm and the second 1 pm to 2 pm in the Peachtree City Library’s Floy Farr Room. Seating is limited for this free event with advance registration being required.
In order to register, a valid PINES library card is required and a per card limit of two tickets per card will be imposed. Guests are asked to only register for one seating.
Funding for the event will come in part from Georgia Humanities via the grant initiative Georgia Humanities Circuit with additional funding being provided locally by the Friends of the Peachtree City Library.
