Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington will be enhancing the holidays with Holidays at Hagley, Twilight Tours at Hagley, and a visit from Santa.
Hagley Museum and Library is currently in holiday mode as it presents this year’s festive activities featuring the theme “All Creatures Great and Small.” The theme has been chosen to celebrate all the wildlife, pets and other animals that have lived in and around the historic home over the last 200 years.
Hagley Barn will display the fifth annual Gingerbread House contest. Over 30 entries are on view. Guests may vote for their favorite houses in three categories – Youth, Adult/Family, and Community Partner. Votes may also be cast on the Hagley webpage. Winners in each category will receive museum memberships and $100 Amazon gift cards.
While in the barn, guests are invited to take pictures in front of a welcoming fireplace scene. Pictures taken this early in the season can still be taken to local Stationery printers to become this year’s Christmas cards.
Santa will be visiting the museum in the Visitor’s Center tomorrow (December 3) from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.
From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Twilight Tours will also be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout December. Eleutherian Mills, the du Pont family home, will be decked out in holiday splendor, and guests will get to see it all in glowing lights.
Holidays at Hagley is at the museum on 298 Buck Road until January 1, 2023.
