Friends of Wilmington Parks and Delaware State Parks are partnering to present a summer concert series in Wilmington.
The series will include nine Monday evening performances in Rockford Park. These will take place at the park’s concert stage near the Tower. The first band, Blues Reincarnation Project, is a rock and roll group. The other June shows will be jazz artist Maya Belardo and reggae group Unity Reggae. The full summer lineup is available online, and August 17 is reserved as a rain date for any shows that need to be canceled due to bad weather.
The concert series is free to attend and appropriate for all ages. Dogs are welcome. Attendees should bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs to sit on. Wilmington Brew Works will have beer and bottled water available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the Friends of Wilmington Parks. There will also be a different food truck at each concert. Food truck owners often work with Print shops to create Signs and Menus when present at this sort of event.
Friends of Wilmington Parks improves and maintains the five state parks in the city. Its projects have included building the new covered Rockford Park concert stage and caring for the historic Jasper Crane Rose Garden.
The first performance in the Rockford Tower Summer Concert series will be on Monday, June 15 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
