The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) is recognizing medical and community contributions at its Shining Light Awards celebration this summer.
The event includes a reception with food and drinks, and a presentation of two awards. Dr. Scott Siegel is being honored for his medical research and patient care work that supports better outcomes for breast cancer patients in Delaware. Stockley Tavern is receiving an award for its philanthropic work centered around innovative, community-driven fundraising.
Tickets are available online now for $80 per guest. Attendees or those interested in supporting the organization without attending the event can make a donation through the registration link. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Businesses can contact DBCC to discuss details. Organizations often use printing services to create Signs to recognize sponsors at this type of event.
The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is a statewide organization with three offices, including one in Wilmington. It works to raise awareness and increase healthcare access related to breast cancer screening and treatment. It runs a large selection of groups designed to provide support and education for breast cancer survivors and those recently diagnosed. DBCC also offers community outreach programs, including lunch and learns, wellness fairs, a research grant and an educational conference.
The Shining Lights Awards will take place on Wednesday, August 5 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at The Waterfall in Claymont.
