For an opportunity to give to charity while having run, local runners will be turning out for the Wilmington Cupid’s Fun Run 2023 coming towards the end of February.
The run will be ensconced in the midst of a big party as participants are encouraged to wear their wackiest Cupid costumes. The “run” could more accurately be described a ½mile run/walk-at-your-own-pace event with the emphasis on party. The event will be for those 21 and over.
Basic registration will be $45 and individuals raising $250 or more will receive some swag and admission to a party, with an open bar presented by MeUndies.
Commemorative red-rimmed sunglasses will go to those raising $50, and red T-Shirts sporting the event’s Logo Design will go to those raising $100. Other swag includes choice of tundra or trucker hats at the $500 level, plush robe or fuzzy blanket at $1,000, and Icemule Classic Cooler at the $2,000 level. Higher donations of $5,000 will receive the Icemule Classic Cooler, pin, and name on a VIP plaque, and those donating $10,000 will receive a YETI Crossroads 40 L Duffel bag.
The event has raised $37,800 and hopes to reach $70,000 for the Neurofibromatosis (NF) Research and Children’s Tumor Foundation. Pre-event, on-site, and post-event sponsorships are available.
The run has been slated for Saturday, February 25 from noon to 4:00 pm at DECO Wilmington, 111 W 10th Street.
