Two outdoor events have been scheduled in Wilmington for August.
The Second Annual Delaware Hammock Festival, hosted by WVUD 91.3 FM’s Richard F. Blackwell, will feature live music by Monero & Front Yaad Family, Tracey A & The A List, Swearv with DJ Pez Intl., and Blue Symphony. Other entertainment will be Comedienne K-Mack.
General admission will be $15, and guests may bring their own hammocks or rent them online along with admission for $35. It will be from noon until 6:00 pm Saturday, August 19 at Ft. Christina Park, 1110 E 7th Street.
Also, the 10th Delaware Burger Battle will have competitive chefs competing for glory and trophies.
General adult admission will be $62.50 and children’s tickets for kids between five and twelve will be $15.50. Teen and Designated Driver admission will be $41.50. All tickets include burger samples, three votes for the People’s Choice award, alcohol for the adults, and soft drinks for everyone else.
A panel of judges will decide the Critic’s Choice Winner and the Best Alternative Burger. Winning restaurants of contests like these often take pictures to local Print shops to become part of their future advertising campaigns.
The Delaware Burger Battle will take place Saturday, August 26 from noon to 3:30 pm at Rockford Tower 2000 Lookout Drive. All the net proceeds will go to the Food Bank of Delaware and to Delaware Prostart (National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation).
