The 2022 Grazin’ in the Grass Musical Series, followed by Wilmington City Cinema, will be coming to designated Wilmington parks from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm during July and August. All movies will begin at 8:30 pm.
This family-friendly event will have music, free food, games, and movies compliments of Mayor Mike Purzycki and Wilmington Parks and Recreation Director Ian Smith. DJ Timm Dogg from Sounds by Megatron Sound Company will be the emcee.
The first event will be next Tuesday, July 5 at Prices Park, 2313 H. Locust Street, and the movie will be “Aladdin.” That will be followed the next Tuesday, July 12, with “Raya and the Last Dragon” at Elbert Park at C and Townsend Streets.
Three showings of “The Lion King” will follow on July 19 in Koscriuszko Park at 1320 Beech Street, July 26 at Haynes Park at Harrison and 32nd Streets, and August 2 at Tilton Park at 1300 W. 8th Street.
Woodland Park at 2138 Faulkland Road, will show “Encanto” on August 9, and the last event will show the movie “The Addams Family 2” at Stapler Park on North Union Street on Thursday, August 11. All these films are rated PG.
Free community events such as these are often included in brochure printing for the city’s community outreach programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
