Water way to celebrate!

On November 8, the water company of Connecticut commemorated the water treatment facility in Rockville being completed.

The $30m Vernon facility is located near Snipsic Street and treats the water for 10 areas in the northern central part of the state, which is home to 85,000 residents. Officials expect it to last 50 years and each day can clean as much as 12 million gallons of water. A water toast from the Shenipsit Lake Reservoir directed at utility workers sanctified the plant.

According to the president and CEO of Connecticut Water, David C. Benoit, the plant in Rockville can give communities a consistent amount of water that is safe to drink and available to firefighters in the next several decades. He expressed his appreciation that the project did not go over the budget and was ready on time. He thanked organizations that helped in the construction, employees, and the division of the state's Department of Public Health that handles the supplies for the drinking water.

Although not everyone spoke at the event, multiple people attended the dedication, including the mayor, a state senator and state representatives, the PURA commissioner and vice chairman, and other town officials.

A Print company can make pamphlets about saving water and have them available for the public, and awareness groups and local officials can be tasked with distributing them.
