Friends of Valley Falls is hosting the Rails to Trails Firecracker 5K in Vernon.
The shaded trail is a 5K USA Track and Field certified racecourse. Participants will meet in the parking lot at 31 Church Street. Parking is available on Birch Street and Church Street on the side closest to the trail.
The trail stretches from Phoenix Street to the park and back. The top three runners in the male and female categories will receive awards in the mail. Organizations use Promotional Products such as medals and shirts to advertise races and add incentive to sign up.
Registration is $20. The money raised will go toward Friends of Valley Falls and Vernon Greenways. Runners should look over the map of the course. At the 1.5-mile marker, runners will turn back and finish the race.
Runners can fill out a paper application or register online on the Run Sign Up website. Online registration is open until 7:20am on race day but participants cannot turn in their paper applications on the race day.
Participants can pick up their packets and numbers from 6:15pm to 8:15pm on the two days before the race. They will be available in the parking lot on Church Street. They can pick up their packets on race day starting at 6:20am. Everyone must pick up their race bibs before 7:30am.
The race will take place on July 11. Racers will start one at a time in three general waves. The first wave will begin at 7:40am, the second at 7:50am, and the third at 8am.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
