Vernon art center to offer virtual paint class series

The Arts Center East in Vernon will be offering a virtual Painting in Watercolor course set to begin at the end of March.

As a non-profit, the Arts Center East provides the community of Vernon with a creative space to enjoy and make art. The center hosts gallery events, as well as art classes and workshops both in-person and online. From March until the end of April, it will offer a Zoom painting course focusing on watercolor techniques.

The course will be a series of classes occurring every Tuesday. The instructor will be Joseph M. Burger, an active member of the Academic Artists Association (AAC) with over 10 years of experience. The classes are designed for both beginner and intermediate students of painting. The primary objective of the course is for attendees to learn new watercolor techniques or improve upon those they already have.

A few days before each Zoom class, reference photos and sketches of the selected topic will be emailed to participants. Students might find it helpful to Print out these sketches to study from, so they might seek out printing services offering high-quality prints.

The Painting in Watercolor course is scheduled for March 23 through April 27, on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The Arts Center East’s website will have more information on pricing and registration.
