Art and motorcycles to be displayed in Vernon

A motorcycle auction and art exhibit are due to begin soon in Vernon.

The New England Motorcycle Museum will host an event to auction more than 300 motorbikes. The collection includes modern, vintage, and classic models. The money raised will benefit the museum.

Museum officials will continue to buy and co-sign vehicles to sell at the event until February 7. Those interested in co-signing or selling a motorcycle can contact Kenny Jr. or Bill Blythe at 860-454-7024.

Arts Center East is presenting an exhibit on art that people wear. The pieces include clothing, hair styling, hats, photographs of fashion trends, and outfits created from discarded materials. Bridget Parris will judge the pieces.

The art pieces will be displayed in the gallery but artists can opt to have their pieces exclusively available online. The deadline to submit pieces is February 3. Accepted pieces will be announced on February 7.

The museum's auction will begin on February 12. At 10:00 am, the museum will start accepting online bids, and will do so until 11:56pm on February 14. The Wearable Exhibit will be available online and open to the public at Arts Center East on Fridays and Saturdays from February 19 to March 13 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Exhibits and auctions tend to use poster printing to give a preview of what will be on display at an event.
