On January 5, the Vernon Health Care Center disclosed that Andrew Steiner is its new administrator.
According to the Center’s Managing Partner Paul Liistro, the organization is happy Steiner has accepted the position. He pointed out that the Center, which is rated five stars in rehabilitation and nursing, has a tradition spanning four decades in compassion and integrity, and has served several generations in Vernon.
Steiner has been in healthcare improvement for 20 years and will be a valuable part of the team accourding to Liistro, who says his career is a reflection of the organization's mission.
Steiner was the president of the firm Sycamore Health Care Consultants LLC, which focused on multiple fields, including integrating healthcare technology, policy, reimbursements, senior healthcare and housing, marketing, management of turnaround and operations, and real estate. He has been a nursing facilities administrator in the state, as well as in Massachusetts where he oversaw programs for cardiac care, pulmonary rehabilitation, and various Forms of dementia such as Alzheimer's.
The new administrator has networked with other hospitals and organizations to improve customer service and general patient care. At Vernon Manor, he will oversee management operations. Currently he is a health systems management educator at the School of Business of the University of Connecticut.
