On January 27, Vernon's SpareTime Bowling cut the ribbon for its VIP room complete with Laser Tag and extension of the games room.
Dan Champagne, Mayor of Vernon and the Executive Director of the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce, were two of the people at the event. Both expressed interest in hosting events at the bowling alley.
The establishment, located at 350 Talcottville Road, added around 10,000 square feet. The laser tag area takes up 4,000 of this space and spans three stories. Some of the older areas of the building were renovated to add new features.
In the game room are couches, video games, game tables, Skee Ball, and ride games. With five extra lanes, the VIP room can be an overflow area or customers can reserve it for parties.
According to SpareTime's Event Manager Shelby Libby, the added attractions have been open since mid-December after a few months of construction. Customers enjoy the VIP room, and it has been rented out often for birthdays, company picnics, team-building exercises, and holiday celebrations.
There are SpareTime establishments in several states, many of which have been upgraded recently. Selling Promotional Products such as shirts, Mugs, Pens, and stuffed toys are a good way to bring in revenue and advertise the business at the same time, especially if done while upgrades are in evidence.
