Out-of-work citizens of several Connecticut communities, including Vernon, will be getting some aid from the federal government.
The U.S. Department of Labor has issued a grant totaling $6.7m that will fund training in the fields of information technology and healthcare in Connecticut and 19 other states. A total of 55 healthcare employees and 255 residents who have been out of work long term will benefit from this grant.
Senator Chris Murphy states that new laws in healthcare require training when it comes to information technology in the field, and this is what the grant is set to give those who need jobs. Capital Workforce Partners, along with The Board of Regents for Higher Education, applied for the grant, which is the second that the Department of Labor's Ready to Work Program has given to the state.
The goal of the program is to quickly employ those out of work, give them expedited training, and provide resources for training in the long term and while on the job. The grant also gives employers, such as hospitals, money for training workers so they do not have to pay for it themselves.
Educational and training programs may offer small Catalogs for jobseekers to look at and choose which career path they wish to pursue. Catalog printing is inexpensive, so is a good option for organizers looking to make information easy to read.Get a Free Quote for Catalogs
