The Rockville High School Athletic Hall of Fame will welcome eight new members next month, consisting of seven athletes and one coach. This will be the third set of individuals inaugurated into the RHS Hall of Fame.
Included in the Class of 2015 inductees is Charles E. Saimond, who was the school's boys’ soccer coach for 30 years. Meanwhile, Amy K. Ferranti, James F. Hennessey, and Dianne M. Schaefer Smith earned their letters in two sports during their years at RHS.
Donald U. Beerworth, Stephen R. Mikulski, Harold E. Wilde, and Lawrence R. Willette participated in three sports. Scott Smith, committee chairman and class of 1988, stated that the achievements of this year's inductees are evident in their dedication and hard work in Rockville High School sports.
Third time Master of Ceremonies David Smith will start the official ceremony. Smith was once a coach and staff member of Rockville High School. He is excited for the ceremony and hopes the community will join the committee in welcoming them.
Hiring a printing company to make certificates for the inductees would be a generous gesture by Rockville High School so they can cherish their achievement at home and share them with their family and friends.
The ceremony will be on September 13 in the auditorium of Rockville High School, near Vernon. At 1:00 pm, there will be a reception.
