Rockville High School in Vernon will host the second year of RockaTHON to raise money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Several children who are patients at the center will be the stars of the night.
The fundraiser was Ruth Hollm's idea after her family was invited to several other events in the area. Her son Josh has undergone treatment for several illnesses at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and was one of the guests of honor at each fundraiser. They started RockaTHON last year.
Many people have offered their help and support. The high school band and their families have once again stepped up to volunteer. Hollm stated that they are a major help. Businesses in the community will donate money, products, and their services to the cause. Some people start raising money early and donate it at the event.
RockaTHON raised around $3,000 last year. This year, Hollm is hoping to raise even more. A possible way to achieve this could be through selling custom printed merchandise such as custom Pens, cups, T-Shirts, or water bottles.
The entry fee is $5 and it will run from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on January 30. There will be games, raffles, and other things to do that will benefit the medical center. Finally, there will also be dancing to honor the children who have undergone treatments at the center. In case of snow, RockaTHON will be held on February 6.Get a Free Quote for Pens Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
