On June 21, Celebrate Shelton will host Food Trucks on the River starting at 4pm in downtown's Veteran's Memorial Park.
More than 20 food trucks are expected to attend. New England Brewing Company and Bad Sons Brewery will host a beer garden. There will also be craftsman demonstrating their skills and wares. Tracy Jo & The Toads will provide live music. Although there is no fee to attend, there is a suggested donation of $5 to raise money for Celebrate Shelton's projects throughout the local area.
Celebrate Shelton hosts multiple events in the community throughout the year such as the Holiday Community Tree Lighting and Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts & Food Trucks. Celebrate Shelton creators Nichole Heriot-Mikula and Michael Skrtic expressed their excitement in bringing back the event that offers free fun to families in the area.
Tuttle Insurance, Star 99.9, and TD Bank are sponsoring Food Trucks on the River. Some of the money raised will go toward BHCare, an organization that offers families and individuals help with domestic violence, prevention, and behavioral health services.
The food trucks participating in this year's event include Cinnamon Churros, Dad's Cannoli Truck, Four Flours Baking Company, Los Mariachis on Wheels, Milkcraft, Next Generation Concessions, Santa Francesca Pizza, Sugar Bakery, The Supreme Grill, and The Spotted Dick Foodery.
Food trucks can use Business Cards during events like these to remind customers where the food came from should they ever want to eat there again.
