What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Town set to go to the dogs

Norwalk dog owners, potential dog owners, or just dog lovers are invited to attend Norwalk’s Fall Pet Festival and Adoption event.

Celebrating the animal-human bond, it will be taking place in a just a couple of weeks. Dogs will be welcome. Hosted by Best Friends Pet Care, the festival will have educational and fun activities for both dog and friends. The fun activities will include an ice cream social, a doggy pool, and paw painting.

Portraitist Aaron Art and photographer Ty Foster will be on hand to create pet pictures that owners may want to use for future poster printing. The festival’s educational programs will include Norwalk’s K9 Police, who will be having demonstrations.

Attendees can meet a dog care professional and have a conversation about dog-related concerns at an ‘ask the trainer’ station. Local vendors will also have tables. For those pet-less people who would like to become dog owners, or those who own dogs and wish to enlarge their pet family, the local Bully Breed Rescue will have adoptable dogs onsite throughout the day. Currently the Rescue has 12 possible terrier mix adoptees, including a lab/terrier mix, a bulldog/terrier, a boxer/terrier, a shepherd/terrier, and an American Staffordshire Terrier.

The doggie festival will be held, September 20 at Best Friends Pet Care, 528 Main Avenue, Norwalk, running from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
