SONO presents annual arts festival
Gordon Fine Arts will once again bring its annual SONO Arts Festival to Norwalk in August.
National fine artists from around the Norwalk region will be displaying and selling jewelry, original paintings and other art genres.
Local businesses and art associations will be bringing activities, displays, items for sale and having specials. Each group must send in their logo design before event media goes out to the public and print material goes to print shops.
Artists will receive welcome packages that will include promotional products, special menu items, and coupons.
Volunteers will be needed for 5:00 am to 10:00 am for early morning detail. Gate people will help man the gate and close the street beginning at 5:00 am. Some will be needed to welcome artists from 5:30 am to 11:00 on Saturday. From 10:00 to 2:00 pm a morning crew and an afternoon crew working from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm will be greeting patrons, assist artists in their booths, provide security, and helping with installations.
The event will have a sculpture race, performance art such as poets and writers, and live music performers.
The annual Giant Puppet Parade on Washington Street will take place at 1:00 pm Saturday August 3rd.
The SONO Art Festival will take place rain or shine Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on North and South Main Street and Washington Street.
