What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Seasonal classic comes to MTC

The Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) at 509 Westport Avenue here in Norwalk will present the classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” as a live radio play in mid-December.

Joe Landry has adapted this play for the stage from the original Frank Capra screenplay. Once again, George Bailey, with the help of his guardian angel Clarence, will learn the value of friendship in this traditional Christmas tale.

The hour-and-a-half long play will be reminiscent of a live radio broadcast of the 1940s. Five actors will not only voice the dozens of characters, but will provide Foley sound effects too.

Theaters putting on Christmas productions such as this often take their production photos to local print shops to be included in their visitor guides and advertising media.

The Main Stage will offer performances to in-person audiences. In-person tickets are available and seating pods will be available for 3, 4, 5, 6 or 10 patrons.

Those attending are asked to arrive 30 prior to the show if their tickets are in the right-hand section of the audience. Those with center section tickets will be asked to be 20 minutes early so they can be seated, and those having left-hand section tickets are to allow 10 minutes before the performance.

Live stream tickets will also be available for $25. Access link information will be emailed on show day.

It’s A Wonderful Life Live Radio Play will be performed from December 11 to 20.
