Rowayton has Turkey Trot
Before sitting down to their Thanksgiving feasts, many runners here in Norwalk will be heading over to the annual Rowayton Turkey Trot coming on Thanksgiving morning.
The event will feature both a 5k and a one-mile run through Norwalk. Registration for the 5k will be $40 for adults, $15 for kids from ages 10 to 17, and free for ages 1 to 9. The rates will be the same for the one-mile run. Registration will be completed online electronically. Although packets will be available on race day beginning at 7:45 am, there is no guarantee that all runners will receive bibs. Registered runners may, however, run without them.
Those registering before October 31 will be guaranteed winter hats featuring the Rowayton Turkey Trot graphic design.
In order to accommodate over 1,400 runners like last year, chip responders will be at the start for the 5k, so no one will have to crowd the starting line. Those running the one-mile will not need bibs but may wear #1 vanity bibs if they wish.
The Rowayton Turkey Trot will begin at the Rowayton Community Center, 33 Highland Avenue at 9:00 am, and runners are advised to get there at least 15 minutes before the start time. Parking will be available across the street at Graham Capital.
The Rowayton Turkey Trot will take place Thursday, November 28.
