Rotary hosts putting tournament

Norwalk Rotary Club is hosting its 4th Putt for Charity, a mini golf tournament and dinner, in mid-September.

This will be a true miniature golf tournament in which the holes will be shorter so reaching the green will be easier.

Individual golfer registration will be $75, and foursomes will be $275. It will include 18 holes of golf, prizes, and 50/50 drawing. Attendees at events such as this often bring their updated business cards as this will be a great networking opportunity. September 13th is the last day of registration.

Dinner will be at Ripka’s Beach Café. It will be served starting at 7:00 pm and will include two drinks, appetizers, BBQ chicken, raw bar, roasted pork, grilled flank steak, veggies, salad, cookies, and watermelon.

Proceeds will go to the Brien McMahon High School’s Marine Science Academy. This four-year program is field based here in Norwalk and offers students experiences in Marine Science. The program not only presents numerous technologies, but students also get exposure to career and college opportunities, apprenticeships, and internships.

Putt for Charity will take place Tuesday, September 13th starting at 5:30 pm at Norwalk Cove Marina, 48 Calf Pasture Beach Road. Ripka’s Beach Café is located at 99 Calf Pasture Reach Road. The event should wind down around 9:00 pm. Rain date will be Thursday, September 15th.
