Oyster Festival just weeks away
The annual festival many in Norwalk have been waiting all year for is just around the corner.
The Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival will be held once again in the town, offering seafood delights, socializing with neighbors, and lots of other things to do.
The festival will once again feature lines of booths offering arts and crafts, and the New England Seaport Village will be offering both samples and demonstrations.
Guests can enjoy an environmental demonstration and display put on by Go Green, harbor cruises offered by Festival Docks, a variety of children’s activities at Kids’ Cove, and of course, an International Food Court that will offer hungry visitors a wide variety of treats, including oysters. Attendees will surely want to bring their cameras for picture taking that can be used for later poster printing.
There will also be entertainment and Family Day events, including specials on Sunday and parking connected with a shuttle bus service.
The Festival will be held Friday, September 11 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, Saturday from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, at Veteran's Memorial Park Norwalk, Sea View Avenue. Admission is $10 on the Friday and $12 on the Saturday and Sunday.
Discounts will be available for seniors, children, and active duty military personnel. There will also be additional costs associated with food and goods. Backpacks and tote bags will not be allowed.
